I like this story. It’s short but I think I succeeded in getting it across the way I wanted to. It tells the story of a man who is grieving for his dead wife and decides to end it all.

I wrote this originally as an entry for a competition. I never submitted it though. I was going through a time in my life when writing was not important. My attention was shifted to something completely different.

However, hindsight, as they say, is a truly marvellous thing. But really, it is quite useless. Because I have no doubt that if I was back in those days, I would abandon writing once more. Not by choice of course, you see I was coming up to the moment in my life that would change me. A dark and secluded existence that to this day affects me.

Writing could save me yet I only ever asked for its help through writing poems. I think though, with Eternity, it gave me something to hold onto, a link to what I could have done.
