How I Wish You Were Here

The day you waited to arrive,
Is sadly not to come today.
But give a smile oh simple soul.
For the day you waited, has gone by.
And smile that you shall wait no more.
That you will never have to wait.
And choose the path you want to walk,
And lets just see where it will take.
This destiny, this choice of yours.
This standing up to say enough.
It is not a test of who you are,
Or test to trial these days so rough.
This is but a joyous choice.
This choice to prove to you, you care.
And isn’t it funny you sing this line,
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
Through the darkest and the brightest times.
You heard that line, oh when you tried.
You must now write these final rhymes.
Of all the joyous tears you cried.
