Walk On By
I love it when she walks on by,
To see the love deep in her eyes.
Pretend and dream, pretend and dream,
And walk alone now, walk on by,
Sahara skin, so smooth to touch,
Her flowing hair, to shine so lush.
Pretend and dream, pretend and dream,
Keep hope apart now, on you rush.
The smell of roses, cushioned kiss,
In dreams these things, forever missed.
Pretend and dream, pretend and dream.
Keep counting the blessings of a wish.
And as she fades into the night,
Sometimes this hope; a warming light.
Pretend and dream, pretend and dream.
Sometimes what’s true, just isn’t right.
