That
is his full name. Huge Eyes. Covered in black fur, with one white leg and a
white sock of fur on another.
You
see, back in Wicklow, we had Cats. Lots of ‘em. Great animals. You can play
with them all day and they are pretty damn smart as well. Two of them worked
together and managed to figure our how to open the porch door (One got on it’s
back, and clawed the bottom. The other clawed the side of the spring-based
barrier).
Rabbits
though, I never actually thought they would make an affectionate pet. However,
in the words of Master Yoda – “Surprised, indeed was I.” The little bugger
flies all over the place. He will sit there for ages just being petted or tear
around the couch at, and I mean this, a phe-nomenal speed.
But,
it’s when he is just lying there in your arms.Looking up at you. Nudging at you. Standing on his hind legs and staring
into your eyes.
It
makes me realise how smart rabbits can be, how much more than a docile, stupid
bunny he is.
We
wanted a pet, something to care for. We couldn’t get a dog or a cat, due to
the fact we lived in an apartment. But the Pet shop said a Rabbit would be fine
for those surroundings.
Kinda
glad we went for him. He adds a lot to the place. But deep down, I think there
is a lot to be said when you try to cross the divide with animals, and when they
depend on you.
